Firms get CNY off to a good start with large orders
    2019-02-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

DESPITE the fact that China’s growth is slowing, some companies in Bao’an District seem to be immune to the broader economic conditions as they have received large orders right after the Chinese New Year (CNY) holiday.

On Feb. 10, the first working day after the holiday, Bao’an-based Shenzhen Saiyi Technology Development Co., Ltd. got visiting clients, and its employees were all prepared for the journey ahead.

The company’s executive vice president Luo Hui said, “We’ve got our company to an auspicious start in 2019 since we received an order worth more than 100 million yuan (US$16 million) after we went back to work after the CNY holiday.”

As a professional Internet of Things (IoT) solutions provider, the company is dedicated to the development of “soft and hard cloud” planning and to providing strong IoT technological support to the traditional manufacturing industry.

Luo said the company has received orders of more than 3 billion yuan since it started to focus on the R&D of back-end supply chain in 2018.

As early as 2015, Saiyi Technology responded to the national call to provide the traditional manufacturing industry with advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and IoT support.

Last December it revamped the 20,000-square-meter Aoxin Makers Incubation Center in Xixiang Chentian Industrial Park in Bao’an District, providing one-stop top-level services including planning design, test certification, smart manufacturing and supply chain management.

Shenzhen Owatis Technology Co., another Bao’an company in the smart home industry, also reported great news.

According to the company’s general manager Yu Jun, Owatis will ink strategic cooperation agreements with China Mobile, Hong Kong’s PWCC and Japan’s KDDI. It has received an order of 10 million yuan from China Mobile.

“Our sales target for 2019 is 50 million yuan and I’m confident we can achieve it,” Yu said.

Yu said in 2019 Owatis plans to expand its R&D team to improve underlying code, application development, structure design and hardware design.

“We received such a huge order in the first month of 2019, which shows that we must rely on R&D, competitive products and price.” (Yang Mei)
