    2019-02-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE five subdistricts in Bao’an District, namely Xin’an Subdistrict, Fuhai Subdistrict, Shajing Subdistrict, Xinqiao Subdistrict and Yanluo Subdistrict, convened Party working committee meetings Feb. 14 to make arrangements for the year, the Bao’an Daily reported.

In 2018, the annual GDP of Xin’an Subdistrict reached 62.8 billion yuan (US$9.29 billion), up 9.8 percent over the previous year. Investment in fixed assets stood at 20.28 billion yuan, up 42.5 percent year on year.

Total retail sales of social consumer goods reached 24.32 billion yuan, an increase of 7.4 percent over the previous year. All of the above three indicators ranked first in the district.

Apart from economic achievements, Xin’an also made substantial progress in urban quality, social security, community governance, people’s livelihood and cultural development last year, according to the Daily.

This year, the subdistrict will continue to focus on high-quality economic development, expedite the construction of 153 government-invested projects and 33 privately invested projects, and complete the investment of 21.8 billion yuan in fixed assets.

Fuhai Subdistrict achieved an annual GDP of 43.8 billion yuan last year, an increase of 10.1 percent. Meanwhile, it demolished 764.1 million square meters of illegal structures, completing 111.43 percent of its annual task.

The subdistrict has also been identified as the pilot subdistrict for Shenzhen’s goal of building a children-friendly city, according to the Daily.

This year, Fuhai Subdistrict has arranged 24 key tasks, which include cleaning up four unregulated industrial parks and 200 enterprises to unleash 200,000 square meters of industrial space, basically completing the supporting facilities of Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center, and promoting the clean-up of 22 small ponds, reservoirs and culverts.

In its pursuit of high-quality development in 2019, Shajing Subdistrict will strive to increase its GDP by 7.5 percent as well as total retail sales of social consumer goods, while maintaining positive growth in total imports and exports, a total investment of 5.5 billion yuan in fixed assets, and the goals of energy conservation and emissions reduction.

Xinqiao Subdistrict aims to accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading in the subdistrict, optimize its business environment and reduce the costs of enterprises, complete the renovation of 18 urban villages, and add 3,360 seats in primary and secondary schools and 540 seats in kindergartens.

Yanluo Subdistrict has set its GDP growth at about 7.1 percent this year. It strives to make continuous efforts to improve the ecological environment and achieve full coverage of rainwater and sewage diversion pipelines.

Meanwhile, the subdistrict will speed up the installation of fire safety infrastructure and equipment, as well as the construction of traffic safety facilities. Construction of major engineering projects will also be accelerated to boost urban renewal. (Zhang Yu)
