XINQIAO Subdistrict recently held a meeting to promote the Shuangyi Village Project.

Shuangyi can literally be translated into “suitable for working and living.”

Relevant departments and construction units have been urged to complete the project in time and to ensure that the Shuangyi Project can be finished in 14 urban villages before April 15.

After the construction, old residential communities will have a new look. The Shuangyi Project has six phases involving 14 urban villages. So far, all of these urban villages have completed the biddings.

At present, work is being done to guarantee that enough traffic facilities will be on the roads, the urban environment will be neater, fire facilities are functioning, power and gas is safe and reliable, environmental sanitation meets standards and rainwater is effectively controlled.

Qiaotou Village will be listed as a model for demonstration and another 13 villages, including Ditangtou and Shenxiang villages, will become special urban villages, according to the report. (Wang Jingli)
