Pollution tackled to improve water quality
    2019-03-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

LIANG MINHUA and Zhu Enping, deputy chiefs of Bao’an District, led a team to the Xinhe River and conducted an on-site study to learn about land requisition and demolition work related to the river Sunday.

The district leaders urged the demolition tasks to be accelerated so that both banks of the Xinqiao River can be equipped with complete and efficient flood control facilities to enhance river capacity.

Meanwhile, the leaders also heard about the design scheme for the bridge across the Xinqiao River, and requested that Xinqiao Subdistrict fully coordinate with the district’s environment and water bureau to solve the bridge’s elevation problem as soon as possible.

In 2019, the city aims to achieve the overall goal of comprehensively eliminating black and odorous rivers. To this end, Xinqiao Subdistrict is making every effort to prevent and control water pollution.

The subdistrict plans to complete the transformation and upgrade of 210 drainage networks, ensure that 117 kilometers of pipeline networks will remain unblocked, and clean up seven rivers, 16 drainage culverts, and seven small lakes and ponds.
