Nowadays, music plays an important part in our life.

A lot of people think that music is a way to escape from the pain of life. It gives people relief and allows them to reduce their stress. Well, it’s also really true for me. I also like listening to music when I feel down.

I have to say that music is really essential for my life. Let me tell you my story about music.

When I was around 8 years old, I started to learn how to play the piano. Well, in terms of the reason why I started, it is that my mother is crazy about piano, but she didn’t have enough time... so at first, I really didn’t have interest in piano. However, after I was struggling to learn it for a year, I found that playing the piano is really amazing! To be honest, it makes my life more colorful. For example, when I feel a bit down, I like to play the piano to cheer me up.

There was a turning point. I remember one day, my cousin and I watched a famous musical movie together, “The Sound of Music.” I was deeply attracted by the songs in it, like “Do-Re-Mi” and “Edelweiss.”

After that, I found that I was interested in singing, so I told my mom that I really wanted to learn how to sing a song in a beautiful way. Soon after, I started taking voice lessons. Until now, I began to learn the bel canto. I got really into it, but honestly, the Italian lyrics are so hard to memorize!

These days, there is a fantastic vocal competition TV show called Super Vocal. This program is not like normal singing competition shows, which mainly focus on classical and elegant music. All the competitors are bel canto singers and musical theater performers. The audience can enjoy top-level opera performances and songs from popular musicals. This show aroused my enthusiasm about classical music again. When I heard some brilliant songs from that TV show, no matter what language it is, I would like to write down the lyrics of it and learn it sentence by sentence. Therefore, music is really helpful for learning language.
