Tree-planting activities held in Bao’an
    2019-03-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A TOTAL of 300 trees were planted in a 28,000-square-meter area in Xin’an Subdistrict on Tuesday, in observation of Tree-Planting Day.

The area to the east of Dabao Road was once a dumping site for waste. The subdistrict cleared 80 truckloads of industrial waste and 11 so-called zombie cars, which had been deserted and left unattended for a long time, before initiating the tree planting activity.

Employees with Xixiang Subdistrict Office planted more than 200 trees in the Qiniang Mountain Park, the core ecological area of the upper reaches of the Xixiang River and Tiegang Reservoir. The park is a new leisure venue with a soccer field, basketball courts and a hiking greenway linking with the reservoir.

In Lingzhi Park, more than 20 families from Lingzhi Community, Xin’an Subdistrict, planted saplings along the Xinzhen River on Monday afternoon in a parenting activity organized by the community work station.

Fuyong Subdistrict residents also planted 200 trees at the foot of the Fenghuang Mountain on Tuesday.

In 2018, Fuyong initiated 15 environment improvement projects, including the landscaping of two greenways along Fengning Road and Yongtai Road, and improving forest quality of 43.5 hectares by replacing low-efficiency forests in the Wangniuting and Hubeishan areas.
