I want to introduce my favorite athlete, the “Asian Flying Man” Su Bingtian. He’s from Zhongshan City, Guangdong and is only 173 cm tall, which is below the average height of his competitors. He has shown great running talent since he was a child and ran much faster than his peers. After two years of training, he joined the national team in 2009 and won honors for our country in many competitions.

In 2018, he made great progress in running. Su won the silver medal for the 60-meter race in the IAAF World Indoor Championships. His time of 9.92 seconds set a new match record for the 100-meter race. He also ran 9.91 seconds for the 100-meter twice, keeping the Asian record. Su won the gold medal at the Asian Games in Jakarta.

He has made such great progress by training from morning to night, but because of this, he has fewer chances to spend time with his wife and son. Even when his wife gave birth, he couldn’t return home, and he felt so guilty that he trained even harder to make up for it. I like his saying, “Speed belongs to everyone who is obsessed with 0.01 second.”

Through his story, I understand that success is not usually achieved overnight, but often requires great effort. If we want to make our dream come true, we should be strong enough to withstand many trials like iron being made into steel.
