AN animal lover daringly saved a snake after it got its head trapped in a beer can in Florida, the U.S. Rosa Fond, founder of the Humans and Animals United rescue shelter, was driving in Brooksville on Thursday when she noticed the reptile stuck in a Bud Light container. She jumped from her car and rushed to help the snake, despite “freaking out” and later adding that she didn’t know where her “courage” had come from. Initially Fond — who posted her heroics on Facebook — poked the snake with a stick to make sure it was alive, but this only annoyed the reptile and caused it to move its body violently. “Well you’re stuck!” Fond says in the video. She adds, “What do you want me to do?” before asking the snake, “How’d you get yourself in this situation?” Soon, Fond gives up on trying to get the black snake out of its aluminum trap with the stick and bravely uses her hands instead. “Try to get out now but please don’t bite me when you get out,” Fond — who has two rottweilers and a rescue beagle — pleads. Eventually, after having the snake wrap its body around her arm twice, the animal lover frees the reptile. “You better thank me for the rest of your life,” she adds once the ordeal is over. Sharing the video online, Fond wrote, “This was the one rescue that I was never EVER expecting! How on earth did I get the courage to do this I have no IDEA! “She even wrapped herself on my arm twice! It was a battle but I saved her. All for the sake of the animals. “She was enjoying her Bud light. Enjoy the show as it’s very entertaining. I still can’t belief that I touched her!!” Fond, who since the incident has been dubbed “snake whisperer” by friends, said that she did eventually pick up the can from the road but had to wait until the reptile “calmed down.” (SD-Agencies) |
