90% college students give up on losing weight midway
    2019-04-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A RECENT survey by China Youth Daily showed that 89.61 percent of university students quit trying to lose weight midway.

Among the surveyed students from 40 universities across China, 72.73 percent expressed dissatisfaction with their body shape and 77.78 percent were or are losing weight.

The survey showed that 85.71 percent of interviewees have tried to lose weight by dieting. However, the survey also points out extreme diets can lead to binge eating.

Besides dieting, the study shows various other ways respondents tried to lose weight. Of the respondents who have lost weight, 24.68 percent have tried diet meals, 14.29 percent have taken slimming products, 9.09 percent have tried slimming machines and 2.6 percent have used fat-burning clothing.

Exercise is recognized as an efficient way to lose weight. According to the survey, 87.01 percent of respondents have tried to lose weight by exercise, though it is not rare for some to give up. (Xinhua)
