MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry launched their official account on Instagram Tuesday.

After deleting her personal Instagram (and all of her other social media accounts) before becoming a royal, the Duchess of Sussex is back on Insta — this time with her husband.

On Tuesday, the royal couple launched their official account, @sussexroyal. And the account has come just in time — Meghan and Harry are due to welcome their first child this month.

Within the first five hours and 45 minutes of being on the platform, the royal couple hit 1 million followers. The milestone earned them a spot in the Guinness World Records book for the fastest time to reach that follower count, the organization said.

According to a royal source, Harry and Meghan will use the Instagram for both their work and their personal moments.

They captioned their very first post: “Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.”

Harry and Meghan also shared a few of their favorite photos, which highlight their royal work. The nine photos include special moments from their royal tour to Australia last fall, Harry’s work with the military and his conservation efforts with elephants, Meghan’s bond with the women of the Hubb Community Kitchen and her connection with the public. The photo gallery ends with a dramatic black-and-white shot of the couple from their tour Down Under as they wave to the crowd while holding hands.

While Harry and Meghan racked up hundreds of thousands of followers in minutes, they only follow three accounts so far: ClarenceHouse, KensingtonRoyal and TheRoyalFamily (the official palace accounts).

The news comes amid the announcement that Harry and Meghan have split royal households from Kate Middleton and Prince William. The Sussexes and the Cambridges have broken up their joint “court” at Kensington Palace by creating two separate offices.

Harry and Meghan’s own Instagram account is the first step in their transition to a new office. They have also been removed from the official Kensington Palace Twitter account, which now has a profile picture of William, Kate and their three children. The Twitter bio has also been changed to read: “The official account of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Royal Foundation, based at Kensington Palace.”

Meghan and Harry’s office will also be moving out of Kensington Palace and into Buckingham Palace, where the Queen resides. However, Meghan and Harry will be living at their new home in Windsor later this spring when they move out of their Kensington Palace cottage.

William and Kate’s office will remain in Kensington Palace, where they live with their three children.

Meghan was an avid Instagram user before she became a royal. She would regularly share photos of her beloved dogs, friends and her travels. But she had to give up her personal social media accounts before joining the royal family. As she settled into her life as a duchess, she found a new place for her social media skills: the Kensington Palace social accounts the couple previously shared with William and Kate. During the couple’s visit to Sydney in October, Meghan made a personal contribution to the account when she took a sweet photo of her husband as he rehearsed his speech for the Invictus Games’ closing ceremony.

A few days later, Harry snapped a shot of Abel Tasman National Park in New Zealand from the sky, which was shared on Kensington Palace’s Instagram Story. “Traveling to the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park,” the post was captioned with a helicopter emoji and a photo credit to the Duke of Sussex.

Now that they have their own Instagram account, royal fans can expect to see more meaningful moments from the couple themselves. (SD-Agencies)
