Singularity Festival arrives in Shekou
    2019-04-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Guangzhou’s Singularity Festival, showcasing vibrant independent illustration and comics, is gearing up for its third edition this weekend in Shenzhen.

Singularity Festival is an outgrowth of Singularity Plan, a collection of artists and organizers co-founded by illustrator Tony Cheung. It boasts the “most important event in the field of independent illustrations and comics in China,” seeking artists from around the world who “represent the spirit of independent creation.”

The past two editions of the festival in Guangzhou were highly acclaimed by fans and artists, with long lines circling booths at the festivals. The past events were heavy on artists from Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, but this year illustrators and artists from other Chinese cities, Japan, Britain and Belgium will also join the festival.

Dates: April 12-14

Hours: 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m.

Tickets: 80 yuan

Venue: Horizon Hall, 4/F, Sea World Culture and Arts Center, Shekou, Nanshan District (南山区蛇口海上世界文化艺术中心四楼视界厅)

Metro: Line 2 to Sea World Station (海上世界站), Exit A
