Xiong Chu, Class 2, Senior 2, Shenzhen Foreign Languages School Death is an irreversible course for everyone. Sooner or later, whether known in advance or afterwards, the God of Death will reach his hands for us, and take from us everything we have. Questions and arguments about life and death have been too many to count, and the philosophy of it has always been controversial, for death is mysterious and scary to us common people. That is why the film “The Bucket List” impressed me so much. It tells a story of two old men, Carter and Edward, who are in the last stage of their cancer, and only have months, a year if lucky enough, left. They both know that it would only be daydreaming to wait for a miracle to cure their disease. So they make a bucket list, and decide to enjoy life and settle wishes while they are still alive. What really moved me and impressed me in this film was not only the two men enjoying their trip aroundthe world before death, but also the true friendship, pure faith, and their enthusiasm and passion for the life and world. When Carter is near death on the bed for operation, he could still laugh to tears with Edward about the coffee he drank. I think that’s what the film gives me. It tells us to enjoy life, cherishing life while it is still there, full of the unknown and adventures. |
