How Meghan Markle influences Serena Williams’ fashion line
    2019-04-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

MEGHAN MARKLE isn’t just a close pal to Serena Williams — she’s the tennis star’s fashion muse.

The champion athlete opened up about her clothing line, revealing that the Duchess of Sussex is an inspiration for the brand to be of the “highest quality.”

“It’s so fun because people are like, ‘Oh my God. Like wow, the quality is crazy,’” Williams told Business of Fashion. “Listen, if we’re giving our stuff to Meghan, it has to be the highest quality that we can get. So, that’s what I tell our team internally: ‘We have to make sure it’s super high quality that, you know, is fit for a royal princess!’”

During a trip to Dubbo, Australia, in October to visit farming families affected by the area’s two-year-long drought, Meghan wore a plaid oversized blazer from her good friend Williams’ namesake line. The “boss blazer” has gone on to become a bestseller.

It didn’t take long for Williams to show her excitement for Meghan’s support.

“The face you make when you and Meghan have matching @serenablazers,” Williams captioned an Instagram post with a photo of herself modeling the blazer with a big smile across her face.

In an interview with People last year, Williams opened up about her new line. “This collection is inspired by femininity and strength,” Williams told People. “It’s bringing those two together. Who said you can’t be both?”

The collection features pieces with words such as “royal,” “be greater” and “slay” embroidered throughout. On the brand’s Instagram, they showed support of Meghan wearing the blazer and encouraged all their customers to “be the ROYAL that YOU are” by shopping the Royal-themed collection.(SD-Agencies)
