Piano recital by Shi Jin
    2019-04-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Be prepared to be enchanted by an evening of beautiful, touching and relaxing renditions of Shi Jin’s most popular and beloved melodies Sunday at Shenzhen Poly Theater.

The amateur pianist and composer is from Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. He is known for his sensory piano compositions with simple melodies and harmonies.

In 2010, his piece “Melody of the Night IV” was designated by director Feng Xiaogang for use in the soundtrack of his famous movie “If You Are the One.” In 2011, his album “Melody of the Night” was nominated for the Best Solo Album of the Year at the Golden Melody Awards.

Since 2005, Shi has composed more than 60 piano pieces. With more than 200 million views on Xiami Music, the most popular music platform in China, Shi has gained substantial followers. Many people in China have heard of his music, which is streamed over loudspeakers in many public and commercial spaces like hotels, restaurants, bookshops, radio and more.

Performing his music might not call for an advanced skill set, yet a lot of people have been moved by his easy-listening melodies. His music explores both the radiance and the darkness of life. Sometimes it glows with tenderness and gentle happiness, and sometimes it creates a darker beauty with mystery.

Shi holds his concert tours every year across China, with almost-sold-out shows.
