    2019-04-30  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE British Academy celebrated the very best of behind-the-scenes TV talent on Sunday night in London.

The BAFTA TV Craft Awards, hosted by Stephen Mangan, saw several high-profile shows go home with honors.

Among the winners were the Amazon/BBC miniseries “A Very English Scandal,” starring Hugh Grant as disgraced British politician Jeremy Thorpe, which won for costume design, director: fiction and editing: fiction.

Elsewhere, the hit BBC America spy drama “Killing Eve,” which recently returned for its second season, received two nods, for original music and sound: fiction, while the Showtime/Sky series “Patrick Melrose” won for production design and writer: drama.

Other winners on the night included: “Vanity Fair,” which claimed makeup and hair design honors; the BBC/Netflix epic “Troy: Fall of the City,” which won for special, visual and graphic effects; and the BBC/AMC spy miniseries “The Little Drummer Girl,” which was awarded photography and lighting: fiction honors. The music documentary “Bros: After the Music Stops,” which became a word-of-mouth sensation in the U.K. after airing on the BBC over Christmas, won in the editing: fiction category.

The BAFTA TV Awards, which honor those in front of the camera, are set to take place May 12 and finds “Killing Eve” and “Bodyguard” both competing for the best drama series.
