Luo Yongqi, Class 9, Senior 1, Shenzhen Xin’an Middle School Instructed by Rao Feng, Tang Ying Early this month, my classmates and I had a meaningful experience in a military study base located in Guangming District. We gathered at the school gate early in the morning and went to the study base by bus at 9 a.m. On arriving there, although the base didn’t have beautiful scenery, it was a good environment for us to get trained, especially with the complete facilities there. The instructor who trained our class for a week is a short handsome man. He told us that the rules here were strict and we should try not to break them. During the training period, we experienced great difficulties because of the tough military drills and the strict instructor. Once, we learned parade steps. It was the hardest task in the training. My legs and arms felt hurt. The longer we practiced the more relaxation we wanted to have. Therefore, the instructor let us rub our legs under the scorching sun, but the weather was so hot that we couldn’t bear being under the sunlight for a long time. After a day, due to the pain, some classmates cried out, but we were told to keep on practicing. The most impressive experience was when we visited a museum and saw pictures of many kinds of drugs. We learned about the bad consequences that result from drug abuse and saw some terrible pictures of drug abusers. The visit was worthwhile because it reminded us to be alert and avoid the same result as the people in the photos throughout our lives. As time passed by, we got used to everything. We had a lot of fun in obstacle training and mountain climbing drills. During the process of training, I got along well with my classmates. All of us were like a family. We trained, sweated, and shared our sorrows and joys together. We became closer and more united. What’s more, we trained to be tougher, stronger-willed, and more self-disciplined. What a wonderful and fruitful experience. |
