The new campus of Shenzhen Middle School on West Nigang Road in Luohu District will be put into use in September 2020, offering a total of 3,750 school slots, Zhu Huawei, principal of the school, announced on the school’s Campus Open Day on May 4. Nearly 4,000 students and parents attended the event.

Zhu said the dormitory building of the new campus was completed last December and the main building will be completed this June, adding that the completion of the new campus marks an important step for Shenzhen Middle School in becoming a world-class middle school.

Covering an area of 102,643 square meters and a total building area of 170,117 square meters, the new campus is well-equipped with facilities including a resource center, STEAM Activity Center, dormitory building, canteen, culture and sports building, swimming pool and outdoor sports equipment.

According to the principal, the new campus will have such innovations as classrooms of different sizes, teachers’ group teaching classes and students’ choices of class schedules, in an effort to offer students personalized options in accordance with their aptitude.

Zhu said in his speech on the Campus Open Day that Shenzhen Middle School is striving to achieve its goal of becoming a world-class middle school by upgrading facilities. The high school department of Shenzhen Middle School has put into use its new dormitory building, new canteens, new lab and new media center. The new library will open soon. (Yang Mei)
