How does Guangdong look in the eyes of young people? The first contest for short videos in foreign languages, which dropped its curtain at Shenzhen Longgang Science and Technology City Foreign Languages School on April 20, shows Guangdong from the perspectives of young students. The contest was guided by the Guangdong Society of Education, and co-organized by the Multilanguage Education Committee of the Guangdong Society of Education and the international exchange center of the South China academy of personnel science. The works cover five topics including the history and culture, local customs, landscapes, food culture and urban life of Guangdong in different languages including English, French, Japanese, Spanish, German and Russian. The contest attracted the participation of students from over 60 schools. Over 2,500 students and 271 teachers registered on the contest platform. A total of 971 works were received. After two rounds of selection, 10 works were awarded first prize, 15 were awarded second prize and 25 were awarded third prize. Other awards like the best producer-director, best creative, best editing, best musical score, and best foreign language video awards were also given out. Ma Longhai, president of Multilanguage Education Committee of the Guangdong Society of Education, spoke highly of the works and abilities of the students.
