Organ donation promoted
    2019-05-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Family members of some of the city’s organ and body donors receive flowers from officials with the country’s organ donation management center and the Shenzhen branch of Red Cross Society of China at an event marking the 20th anniversary of Shenzhen’s first organ donation campaign and promoting organ donation Sunday afternoon in Nanshan District. Xiang Chunmei, a teacher at Shenzhen University, signed an agreement with the Shenzhen branch of Red Cross Society of China 20 years ago to donate her corneas after her death, becoming the country’s first organ donor. As of May 2019, 1,043 people in Shenzhen had donated corneas, 430 donated their bodies and 359 donated other organs. Sun Yuchen
