Mobile fire safety experience center opens
    2019-05-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE city’s first mobile fire safety experience center was opened recently in Fuyong Subdistrict, the Bao’an Daily reported.

The center, covering around 48 square meters in the Baishixia residential community, has 14 functions, including a VR experience zone, an AR experience zone and a gas pipeline safety learning zone, to promote fire safety knowledge among residents.

Three specialists were hired for the center to teach residents the basic operations of rescue equipment and first aid.

Over 200 residents gathered for the opening ceremony, becoming the first audience. Although they had received relevant safety trainings before, some of them praised the center for its role in raising awareness, spreading knowledge and improving skills.

Fuyong Subdistrict has been focused on promoting safety and defined 2019 as a key year to improve work in this regard. So far this year, the subdistrict has held 73 training activities, with the total number of participants reaching over 16,200.

The launch of this center is regarded not only as an important measure, but also an innovative education model, the report said.

The first mobile center was located in the Baishixia residential community as a third of all the fire cases in the subdistrict last year happened there. However, the center will cover more residential communities in the future and it is expected that it will be able to train at least 400,000 residents within three years. (Wang Jingli)
