International Museum Day (IMD) is an international celebration held every year around May 18, coordinated by the International Council of Museums (ICOM). The event serves as a platform to raise public awareness on the role museums play on an international level. This year, the theme is “Museums as Cultural Hubs: The Future of Tradition,” and a string of events will be held in Shenzhen. The fortress was built in 1394 to protect the area from pirates and later developed into a town. The museum will announce the sign-up information on its WeChat account “iszbwg” later. Nanshan Museum On May 18, Visitors who join in guided tours of exhibitions in Nanshan Museum can claim free gifts. Visitors should obtain a card by showing their ID cards and after attending a guided tour, they can get a stamp. Once they collect a certain amount of stamps, they can claim the free gifts.
