Road collapse

A SECTION of Huanhu Road near the Yinhu area in Luohu District collapsed at around 10 a.m. yesterday, forcing police to impose traffic controls.

No one was injured in the accident, according to a statement on the Luohu police’s official microblog.

Mafia members jailed

A TOTAL of 26 members of a mafia-style organization were recently sentenced to prison for being involved in organized prostitution. The ring leader surnamed Zhang received life in jail.

The criminal ring began committing crimes in 2015 by arranging for women from Henan to engage in prostitution in Shazui Village in Futian District. By September 2017, more than 30 had been tricked into coming to Shenzhen, 24 of whom were underage.

Stroke prevention

LONGGANG People’s Hospital Stroke Prevention Center has been selected as among the top 100 centers in China for screening and preventing the illness, according to the 2019 China Stoke Conference held recently in Beijing.
