Residents look at vinyl records at Exhibition of Patriotic Songs in Vinyl Records held at the Futian Cultural Hall yesterday. A total of 110 vinyl records of patriotic songs are being exhibited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Shenzhen City. The organizer of the exhibition collected more than 1,000 vinyl records from the public to curate the exhibition. Vinyl records were popular around the world in the 20th century and were gradually replaced by CDs after the CD was invented in 1982. The last assembly line for vinyl records in China was shut down in 1998. However, vinyl records are still favored by both casual music fans and hard-core collectors around the world for their unique sound. The exhibition will run through June 10. Sun Yuchen |
