THE opening ceremony of The China Italy Real Estate Design Forum was held Thursday at International Art Design Center (iADC) in Bao’an District.

When it comes to life in the future, real estate developers play an important role, because how they design public areas to some extent determines how it will influence people’s living standards and quality of life.

Against this backdrop, the two-day forum, which ends Friday, is spotlighting the city of tomorrow with the aim of serving as a bridge to connect Chinese architecture with Italian craftsmanship.

Organized by Federlegno Arredo (FLA), and supported by iADC and Italian Trade Agency, the forum attracted around 16 Chinese real estate developers and 23 Italian companies.

The event also invited Chinese and Italian architects, designers and professors from renowned architecture firms and design studios at home and abroad to share the current trends in Chinese architecture and innovative design ideas.

Li Quanyi, director of the Bao’an District Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau, stressed at the opening ceremony that the forum is a great opportunity to promote design and cultural exchanges between China and Italy, and hoped it will contribute to the construction of better urban areas.

Lucia Pasqualini, consul general of Italy in Guangzhou, expressed her hope that there will be more exchanges between China and Italy to allow the two countries to get to know each other better.
