粤港机器人学院迎来首批毕业生 Three student startups out of 80 graduates with the inaugural class at Guangdong-Hong Kong Robotics Academy have already been funded to embark on entrepreneurship. Five teams are being incubated. The academy held a commencement for its first graduation class on Saturday. According to statistics, the academy had enrolled about 400 students over four years. Its first batch of graduates has achieved great success as many of them established business startups and others received offers from prominent corporations or universities, such as The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Scuola Politecnica di Design and the like. To explore a new mode for cultivating engineering students, Songshan Lake TechX Institute worked alongside Dongguan University of Technology, Guangdong University of Technology and the Robotics Institute of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to establish the academy in 2015. The academy promotes an interdisciplinary, project-driven learning mode that integrates intramural learning, corporate training and cross-border studies. Starting from freshman year, students can access curriculums based on authentic programs and projects, textbooks used in top universities and tutors with high levels of practical abilities in order to activate their manual skills and international visions.
