双标狗
    2019-07-04  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

shuāngbiāogǒu

Meaning:

“双标” is short for “双重标准,” which means “double standards,” and “狗,” which literally means “dog,” refers to a person, as in “单身

狗” (a single person). First used by Chinese fans in online quarrels with fans of other idols, this term has spread and been picked up by the general public. The term refers to people who treat others and things with double standards.

Example:

A: 和我一起合租房子的小姐姐,开始说好了大家不可以带男生回来过夜,可是连续好几天她男朋友都住在她房间里。

Hé wǒ yīqǐ hézū fángzi de xiǎojiějiě,kāishǐ shuōhǎo le dàjiā bù kěyǐ dài nánshēng huílái guòyè,kěshì liánxù hǎojǐtiān tā nánpéngyou dōu zhùzài tā fángjiān lǐ。

We had a deal that no one can let a man stay in our apartment overnight, but the girl who shares the apartment with me has allowed her boyfriend to sleep in her room for several days straight.

B: 这样的双标狗直接怼她啊。

Zhèyàng de shuāngbiāogǒu zhíjiē duì tā a。

You need to confront her and point out her double standards.
