REMBRANDT’S ‘NIGHT WATCH’ RESTORATION UNDER WAY IN PUBLIC
    2019-07-10  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Restorers prepare Rembrandt’s famous painting the “Night Watch,” which is protected by a glass barrier and video surveillance, as it undergoes public restoration after a first phase of study, in the famed Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on Monday. Rijksmuseum on Monday began a historic restoration of the painting, erecting a huge glass cage around the painting so the public can see the work carried out live. The multi-million-euro makeover of the giant 1642 masterpiece, the survivor of a difficult history including several acts of vandalism, will also be streamed online so that people around the globe can see it.Xinhua/Reuters
