Temperature relief

THE high temperatures in the city are expected to be relieved thanks to a round of heavy rain that will affect the city today and tomorrow, Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory said.

The heavy rain is most likely to affect the city during the evening rush hour period, impacting traffic. The observatory suggests that residents plan their trips in advance.

This new round of rain will occur over a short time period with strong winds, which can easily cause flooding, so the observatory advises residents to stay away from rivers, slopes and low-lying areas.

Blood shortage

THE stock of Type O blood at the Shenzhen Blood Center has been low recently. The blood center has appealed to the public to make donations.

The number of people making donations at the mobile blood-collecting vehicles across the city was low in recent days due to the prolonged rainy weather, leading to the continued decline in the stock of blood at the blood center. By Monday afternoon, the total inventory at the blood center was 1.11 million milliliters. Of all the blood types, type O was the most scarce.

Residents can learn about donation locations via the blood center’s official WeChat account.
