Paintings from Wuhan on display
    2019-07-11  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

More than 70 paintings from Wuhan Art Museum in Central China’s Wuhan City are on display. Highlighted painters include Leng Jun, Pang Maokun and Guo Runwen, who are famous for realism oil paintings.

Leng is an influential hyperrealism painter. Dedicated to traditional artistic methods, he regularly invites friends to paint in his studio, which is a century-old Western-style house in downtown Wuhan. He decorated the house himself, using old European-style furniture and interior decorations to arouse the feeling of a classical salon.

Guo is a professor at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. He blends classical realism with symbolism, and his portrait paintings evoke life and vitality, captivating viewers and transferring engaging energy.

Pang is the president of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and is renowned for his expertise in classical Western oil paintings. He has extensive experience researching Western oil paintings, but has a signature style, so his oil paintings reflect the Western classical oil painting aesthetics but also have a unique, modern and sometimes surreal or symbolic touch.
