Homeowners in Nanhua Village, Futian District, sign contracts with the developer Sunday for the rejuvenation of the village. The village was built in 1985 as the city’s first batch of subsidized housing for government employees and teachers. A total of 70 buildings in the village will be torn down and a new housing project will be built, as part of support facilities for Shenzhen-Hong Kong Sci-tech Innovation Cooperation Zone, if more than 95 percent of the homeowners sign contracts for the project, which will enable them to move into the new homes upon the completion of the shanty-town rejuvenation project.
