Teenagers from Shenzhen and Suzhou delivered an orchestral performance on Sunday afternoon at Children’s Palace. The 180 players, comprised of members from the Children’s Palace wind band and the string orchestra and the Sunshine Symphony Orchestra in Suzhou, performed around 20 songs that included both classical Chinese and Western music. Tickets for the concert were distributed to citizens for free. At the end of the event, the sponsor of the concert held a ceremony in which players exchanged gifts and received certificates. Children’s Palace and the youth activity center in Wuzhong District in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, co-organized the concert to promote communications between extramural youth organizations in the two cities. The event sponsor said that in the future, Shenzhen and Suzhou will strengthen ties with each other to build a better platform for teenagers from both sides to grow. (Liu Wenjin) |
