Scorching heat

THE weather this week is expected to be hot with temperatures ranging from 28 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday.

The maximum temperatures in densely populated areas could reach above 35 degrees Celsius, Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory said yesterday.

Observatory reminds the public to take precautions to avoid the heat and potential sunburn.

Citizens are advised to take an umbrella when staying outdoors and to take shelter during sudden thunderstorms.

Customer info leaked

BEAUTY lovers can access free makeup testers by scanning a QR code on a tester dispensing machine. At first this seemed to be offering a novel experience for free.

However, these customers are in fact leaking their information without notification by subscribing to the company’s WeChat account or leaving their phone number to get the testers. Such interaction enables the merchant to get more customer information.

A lawyer warned the merchant not to violate customers’ rights while pursuing the new retail mode.
