Tencent ranks 2nd among Internet firms

TENCENT ranks second among the top 100 Chinese Internet companies, according to a list of China’s Top 100 Internet Enterprises of 2019. Alibaba ranks first, while Baidu follows Tencent.

The list was jointly released by the Internet Society of China and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Network Security Industry Development Center.

Ant Financial and Byte Dance have entered the top 10 for the first time, ranking fifth and eighth, respectively.

Alibaba retained the top spot, while 18 of the top 100 Internet companies in 2019 are engaged in e-commerce.

The top 100 Internet enterprises have deepened the development of consumer Internet, covering all of the basic necessities of life, such as clothing, food, shelter and transportation.

The sector covers 17 industries, including Internet public services, network media, music and video, social networking services, technological innovation and intellectual property rights.
