1.92-meter pupil is chosen by the Chinese Basketball Association
    2019-08-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

The Futian delegation of junior basketball team, made up of six players including Chen Zilin from Shuiwei Primary School participated in the 2019 Shenzhen Ticai Cup junior basketball championship from August 3 to 10.

One special player, Chen Zilin, who stands at 1.92 meters (6 ft 3 in) tall, won the most valuable player award at the National U13 Junior Men’s Championship, and his coach, Liu Wei, won the best coach award. The Futian delegation won the championship at the 2019 Shenzhen Ticai Cup.

Chen said he will continue to work hard and strive for greater honor for his school and even for Shenzhen.

Chen’s mother said that she and her husband are of average heights, and they don’t know why Zilin has grown so tall. According to Chen’s mother, he began to participate in systematic basketball training after the Spring Festival this year, and during the summer vacation, he practiced diligently on the basketball court, which took up most of his spare time. Both of his parents support his basketball goals and other endeavors. Chen was selected by the Chinese Basketball Association to participate in national-level training.

In recent years, Shuiwei Primary School has held the Fun Games track-and-field meet and sports festival for students and the Headmaster’s Cup basketball and badminton matches every year. Integrating sports and sinology, the school has independently created 1,000 sinology exercises that have become a staple in the school’s educational offerings.
