YOSHIKI, the renowned Japanese composer, classically-trained pianist, rock drummer, and leader of the rock band X Japan, is joining hands with U.S.-based international film studio The H Collective to develop merchandise and derivatives including cosmetics, apparel, and headphones. All products will be funded by The H Collective with the design and development taking place in Japan. The first line of products is expected to be released this Christmas. Yoshiki’s personal brands include “Yoshikitty,” the first Hello Kitty collaboration named after a living person. The character is a huge hit around the world and has ranked in the Top 10 of the Sanrio Character Ranking for four consecutive years. Yoshiki has also produced his “Yoshikimono” collection of rock-themed kimonos, rebuilding the representation of traditional clothes in a modern era with the brand’s unique values and innovative designs. Through the collaboration, Yoshiki will engage in the cosmetics industry by utilizing Japan’s advanced technology and rich experience in the skincare industry.
