Fugitive surrenders HUANG PING, one of China’s most wanted graft fugitives, has returned to China and turned himself in, five years after fleeing overseas, an official source announced yesterday. He has also been cooperative in returning his illegal gains, according to a statement by an office in charge of fugitives and asset recovery under the central anti-corruption coordination group. Huang, formerly a general manager of a Guangdong-based State-owned enterprise, is suspected of taking bribes, the statement said. Telecom fraud busted POLICE in North China’s Hebei Province said yesterday they had busted a trans-provincial case of telecom fraud involving more than 100 million yuan (US$14 million). A total of 48 suspects were arrested in several provinces, including Fujian, Jiangxi and Hunan, with more than 100 computers and over 200 mobile phones related to the cases seized, according to the public security bureau in the city of Handan, Hebei Province.
