In order to stimulate students’ enthusiasm for learning English, improve their English abilities and provide a stage to showcase oral English and personality, the English department of our high school organized an English speech contest for senior 1 and 2 students.

After several rounds of selection, the final competition saw 14 contestants’ unique thinking, flexible responses and fluent speeches, all of which brought the audience and judges an audio-visual feast with Li Qingxuan, Wu Siqi and Gu Hao winning the first prizes for their excellent performances.

This speech contest provided a stage for students to talk about their responsibilities and show their ability to speak English. It was divided into two parts: giving a speech on the topic “My understanding of responsibility” and answering impromptu questions. The contestants put their most elegant demeanors and exciting ideas on display. After the speeches, some students gave wonderful singing and dancing performances, and the competition came to a close amid bursts of applause and cheers.
