FRENCH-BASED camera and lens testing company DxOMark announced that it has expanded its rear camera testing protocol to include two new test items, namely the night-shot and the wide-angle evaluations.

This is the first major overhaul of the testing protocol since 2017, when DxOMark added zoom and bokeh evaluations to its mobile testing. This protocol update comes in response to the growing use of wide-angle and low-light photography among mobile users.

Along with the news, DxOMark has released a new list of scores for smartphones based on the new testing protocol. On the overall DxOMark Camera list, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G tops the list with a score of 117, followed by the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G with 116, Huawei P30 Pro with 116, Honor 20 Pro with 113, Huawei Mate 20 Pro with 112, and Apple iPhone XS Max with 106.
