全国科普日(深圳南山)在赤湾学校启动 The 2019 National Science Day (Shenzhen Nanshan) was held at Shenzhen Chiwan School, Nanshan District on September 19. Centered on a campaign promoting SoC (System on a Chip) engineering education on campus, this edition of National Science Day was attended by primary and middle schools from across the district to display their achievements in fostering chip engineers for the future. At the maker faire held at the sports field of the school, young engineers displayed their inventions in virtual reality (VR) games, robotics football and drone performance to exchange ideas with their peers. Grade 8 students from Shenzhen Middle School Nanshan Innovational School developed a power-off protection device embedded with wind-powered sensors. It can alert relevant departments to cut off electric power when a typhoon skirts the city, bringing about winds that surpass the preinstalled threshold of the sensor. The SoC key laboratory at Beijing University Shenzhen Graduate School signed agreements with headmasters of Chiwan School, Overseas Chinese Town Middle School, Yucai No.2 Middle School, Zhuguang Primary School and Dongwan Primary School respectively to support them in developing SoC engineering education. Two competitions featuring the demonstration and interpretation of SoC engineering were held on the sidelines of the event. The event was jointly organized by the Nanshan District Science Association, Nanshan District Education Bureau, and Nanshan District Science and Technology Bureau, and was sponsored by leading scientific enterprises such as DJI.
