Christina, G10, RDF International School 瑞得福国际学校G10 李滢 In order to cultivate students’ teamwork skills, my school held four days of orientation before we began a new semester this year. Given that most of the activities were designed as team sports, we students learned much about how to cooperate with others. One of my favorite activities was the card game, in which there are nine random cards, and the team that organized the cards in order at the fastest speed was the winner. I belonged to a team that was half-made up of foreign students, which meaned that it would be harder to communicate because this is a game which needs high-quality cooperation. With other groups scheming and planning their strategies, our group was as silent as when we entered the room. At last a foreign student stood up and led us to discuss strategy, because we had the same goal — to win this game. When I concentrated on communicating with them, I found it was not as hard as I had imagined. Although at first we had some arguments between different methods, we compromised with each other. Finally we combined both Eastern and Western ideas and won first place by our strategy. It is proven that there are no national boundaries between two hearts. No matter how challenging things are, they can still be solved through communication and cooperation, and this is what I learned from the first class. |
