Mobile 5G being applied into schools in SZ

深圳小学生用上5G和AR沉浸式教学

Shenzhen is on the threshold of becoming the world’s highland for 5G innovation. Elementary schools are among the beneficiaries of the city’s ambitions in 5G, as mobile 5G and related solutions for the education field will benefit classes, classrooms, schools and many other educational scenarios, reporters from dutenews.com learned at the 2019 Shenzhen Education Equipment Expo concluded recently.

Smart classroom solutions provide students with VR/AR immersive learning experiences and interactive remote holographic projection experiences by projecting images and videos of top teachers into multiple classrooms in a fast and cost effective way.

Campus safety has also become a big concern in recent years that can be addressed through emerging 5G technology. Reporters noticed at the expo that many campuses have adopted the Safe Campus Solution provided by China Mobile (Shenzhen), including solutions as campus security robots and campus video surveillance enabled by 5G.

The smart tank-like security robots feature functions including patrol and guard duties, auto-charging, panoramic monitors, facial recognition, one-press emergency calls, remote calling, and audible and visual alarms.

The 5G technology is also bringing quality education resources that students in the city are enjoying to their peers in rural areas. Guangdong Province’s first mobile 5G remote classroom education assistance program was launched in Shenzhen.

China Mobile (Shenzhen) teamed up with Sciensly Primary School in Nanshan District to start the construction of 5G smart campuses, utilizing mobile 5G and ViLin to synchronize the picture books of Sciensly Primary School to schools in Nyingchi City in Tibet Autonomous Region and to bring more quality education resources to Tibet.

ViLin is a provider of high-quality, professional cross-provincial and transnational integration video solutions.
