As the summer vacation is the longest holiday, it is usually what every student looks forward to every year. How can we have a fun and fruitful summer vacation? The following is my advice.

First, we should make a plan before it starts so that we can finish the things we want to do in order. For example, for my summer vacation schedule, I made a rule that I should do my homework for four hours every day. Second, we should balance our study and free time in order to enjoy the holiday. Third, we should travel and know more about our world to broaden our horizons. For example, I went to Xi’an with my friends during this summer vacation.

During our travel, we went to visit the Qin Shihuang Mausoleum Museum. We also visited Tang Paradise, and as a result we learned a lot about our country’s history during the Qin and Tang dynasties. Then, we went to the Huashan Mountain. It was so high that it was very difficult to climb to the top. However, upon reaching the top of the mountain, I could see the whole city below, which was very beautiful and amazing. The Xi’an Bell Tower and the Forest of Stone Steles Museum are also famous scenic spots which we visited with joy. After traveling to Xi’an, I think it is a great place for people to visit.

Fourth, we should read more books and take part in as many out-of-school activities as possible. For instance, I volunteered to help the old people in my community by helping them with housework. In addition, during the summer vacation, I read two books which have historical significance and are full of positive energy. One is “Red Star Over China.” The other is “The Kite Runner.” These books tell me that if I persist, I can win, so I enjoy reading them very much.

Finally, since we don’t have time to talk with our relatives and friends during our school days, we can use the holiday to ask them for advice on learning and personal problems. Since my sister is a college student who is good at her studies, I talked with her about effective learning methods and skills. I think her advice can help me to improve my studies. Additionally, I learned more about her recent experiences and good qualities that I should have.
