14 accused

FOURTEEN people Tuesday were accused of wearing face masks in protests, the second group of violators under arrest after the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) enacted the anti-mask law in an effort to curb escalating violence.

2 missing

A LANDSLIDE has left two people missing in Chengkou County, Southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality, local authorities said yesterday.

The landslide lashed a village in Mingtong Township at around 4:30 a.m. yesterday and buried four houses. The disaster has left two people out of contact and more than 140 local residents have been evacuated to safety. The volume of the landslide is estimated at about 20,000 cubic meters.

5 bodies found

FIVE people were found dead early yesterday in a fire at a township hospital in East China’s Anhui Province, local police said.

The fire broke out at about 2 a.m. at a township health center in Guoyang County in the city of Bozhou, the county public security bureau said in a press release.

Online tourist services

THE Ministry of Culture and Tourism has drafted a regulation on online tourist services and started soliciting public opinions in a bid to better regulate the booming sector.

The five-chapter regulation includes stipulations on the qualifications, operations and legal responsibilities of service providers, as well as how their work will be supervised.
