5.2-magnitude quake

A 5.2-MAGNITUDE earthquake hit Beiliu, Yulin City, South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, at 10:55 p.m. Saturday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter was monitored at 22.18 degrees north latitude and 110.51 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 10 km.

Panda twins born

A GIANT panda gave birth to twin cubs at a breeding base in Chengdu, Southwest China’s Sichuan Province, local authorities said Saturday.

The first male cub was born at 1:58 p.m. weighing 176.6 grams while his younger brother popped out at 4:35 p.m. weighing 131.4 grams.
