Longling Stamp Museum, China’s first museum of its kind in a primary or middle school, opened its doors for free entry to the public in Longling Middle School on Sunday. Reservations are needed. Covering a floor area of 800 square meters and a display area of 430 square meters, the museum is a comprehensive museum for the collection, research, display, education and exchanges of stamps. The museum has four display halls each designed in a simple yet modern style. Hall 1 tells the brief history of the development of stamps in China, showcasing representative Chinese stamps from the past 140 years. Hall 2 introduces the first-generation stamp designers in China since the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the works of local stamp designers in Shenzhen. Hall 3 exhibits stamps featuring art and geographical knowledge. Hall 4 houses treasures of stamps and serves as a space for interactive educational activities. Curator of the museum Yi Juan hopes for every student to eventually become a lifelong learner as a result of experiencing such an immersive learning experience. (Yang Mei) |
