THE 2019 International Youth Innovation Conference will be held in Hall 2 of Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center on Nov. 14-16, the organizer, Shenzhen Youth Federation, said at a news conference Thursday.

Under the theme Youth Innovation and Sustainable Development, the conference will attract 1,500 young people from nearly 100 countries and regions to share ideas, experience the latest technologies and get to know projects related to sustainable development.

“The 20,000-sqm exhibition area is divided into sections for international technology projects, sustainable development projects for the youth, high-tech projects and investment services,” Fang Lin, secretary of Shenzhen Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, said at a news conference Thursday.

The conference, supported by Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission, United Nations Development Program, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, United Nations Office on South-South Cooperation and Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy for Youth, is a platform for talents, international organizations, investors and excellent projects to seek cooperation and transfer science achievements.

“The organizer will also select innovative projects that meet the requirements of the U.N. 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and provide Shenzhen experience in implementing the SDGs,” said Fang.

The conference attaches importance to international cooperation, and Deng Xiaojun, deputy chief with Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission, said it aims to “attract more international organizations, institutions and overseas entrepreneurial teams in leading technologies and future industries to settle in Shenzhen.”
