The Shenzhen installment of the 2019 National Teenager’s Architecture Model Competition was kicked off at the Shenzhen Adolescent Activity Center on November 3, attracting nearly 600 students from over 30 schools. The competition consists of individual contests and group contests in architectural modeling, urban planning, residence model design, landscaping, castle design and timberwork loadbearing. “Through designing and constructing models, students learn how to develop better ideas and plans. But this is more than an educational activity. It’s also a good chance to promote knowledge about environmental protection,” said Qi Hexin, a staff member at the activity center. Winners of the competition will form the Shenzhen team and go on to compete in the finals, which will be held in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from November 22 to 26. The Shenzhen competition is co-hosted by the Shenzhen Adolescent Activity Center and Shenzhen Aero and Vehicle Model Sports Association and organized by Shenzhen Gaoshou Land, the Marine and Aero Model Activity Center, as well as the Adolescent Science and Technology Education Association.
