‘Light Puppet Show’ to be staged

Nikolai Zykov Theater from Russia will present “Light Puppet Show” at Nanshan Cultural and Sports Center for six shows.

The show includes firebirds, insects and dinosaurs flying and walking on the stage. It is a funny and unpredictable wordless puppet show featuring a stunning variety of innovative puppets. Unique marionettes and electro-luminous objects will entertain and delight the whole family.

Nikolai Zykov is a world famous puppeteer who has performed his puppet shows in more than 40 countries and regions. He is an author, director and performer of over 20 puppet performances which have received many international awards for creativity and outstanding performing mastery.

His theater preserves and develops the art of puppetry based on the ancient traditions of different countries of the world by using innovative materials and technologies. Each puppet in the performance is not only a work of art, but also a unique design. Some giant puppets in his shows are sure to surprise spectators of all ages.

Born in 1965, Zykov began making puppets for his performances in 1977. In 1985, he created his first solo puppet performance and founded his Nikolai Zykov Theater. He has created over 100 puppets, which include marionettes and radio-controlled puppets. He constantly develops his puppet technology and has invented many innovations for marionettes and giant puppets.
