SZ’s Qingzhou Mini Astronomical Observatory program arrives at Dali
    2019-11-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

深圳青舟天文小站在大理举行捐赠仪式

A donation ceremony themed “Looking up at a Starry Sky, Donating for the Continuation of Love” was held in Yinqiao Town Central Primary School in Dali City, Yunnan Province on November 12.

The donation was part of the Qing zhou Mini Astronomical Observatory program initiated by Shenzhen Yihekai Youth Service Center, a non-governmental organization dedicated to caring for youths. “We hope that all kids across the world will have an opportunity to look up at the starry sky,” said the donor’s representative Zou Jianqing, chairman of Shenzhen Yihekai Youth Service Center.

Materials donated to the school included professional astronomical telescopes, popular science books and elementary-level course materials.

Teachers received four-day astronomical lecturing training, and students who joined the astronomical observatory all received constellation maps as well as bags, mugs and rulers decorated with star patterns.

The Qingzhou Mini Astronomical Observatory program plans to establish 100 such mini-astronomical observatories across the country.
