STATE COUNCIL RELEASES HOLIDAY PLAN FOR 2020
    2019-11-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Central Government on Thursday unveiled holiday arrangements for 2020.

There will be 27 days off for major holidays, including New Year’s Day, the Spring Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day, International Labor Day, the Dragon Boat Festival, National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival, according to a plan approved by the State Council.

New Year’s Day will be a one-day holiday on a Wednesday, according to the plan released on the official website of the Central Government, gov.cn.

Next year’s Spring Festival, China’s most important festival for family reunions, will run from Jan. 24 to Jan. 30. But Jan. 19 (Sunday) and Feb. 1 (Saturday) will be working days to compensate for the long holiday.

A combined holiday for National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival will run from Oct. 1 to 8, according to the statement. But Sept. 27 (Sunday) and Oct. 10 (Saturday) will be working days.

The Tomb-Sweeping Day holiday will be from April 4 to 6. The Labor Day holiday will be from May 1 to 5 with April 26 (Sunday) and May 9 (Saturday) as working days. The Dragon Boat Festival holiday will be from June 25 to June 27 with June 28 (Sunday) as a working day.   (Xinhua)
